Carole Kennedy served as an elementary teacher and principal in Missouri public schools for 38 years including two years as Principal in Residence at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C. She was president of the National Association of Elementary School Principals in 1996-97 and served as a principal consultant for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards following her retirement from the principalship. She has served on many boards and commissions established for the betterment of pubic schools.
Kennedy has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri β Columbia, a Master of Arts degree from Truman State University, and an Education Specialist degree from University of Missouri β Kansas City. She is the mother of three children.
